STOPS ALONG THE WAY

Close Call

Though we live in the city, there’s a nature reserve close by that we go to frequently. Good years attract a lot of ducks and geese and several herons. The pond supports turtles and birds. This young wood duck was swimming quite close to where we had just seen a snapping turtle go by. Fortunately she didn’t linger long.

I love capturing nature, I tend to forget about the circle of life and have been caught off guard while taking some shots of… what suddenly turned into the circle of life – snake enjoying a huge frog. lol Im glad to hear this wee duck lived to see another day 😉

That duck wanted you to take that picture. Definitely ready for its close-up!

She’s very pretty and showing you perhaps her best side.

Are those turtles very big? Would they be a threat to a teenage duck?

That’s a lovely photo, Belinda. 🙂 I hope she managed to avoid the snapper!

She’s a beautiful duck! I suppose the Snapper would pull her down for dinner.
