I like grackles although they have a poor reputation as bullies and agricultural pests. Despite that they’re attractive, intelligent birds that can be fun to watch as they strut around the grass.ย I look forward to their return in early spring.

I like them too, at least until they decide to invite all of their friends to our feeder for a party.

I guess they tend to push out the other birds.

I don’t think we have grackles in Australia, but we have satin bower birds that have the same beautiful blue-black sheen! lovely! ๐

Thatโs a great capture, Belinda. ๐ Yes, grackles donโt have a great reputation but they definitely cut quite the figure! We donโt have them here or at least Iโve never seen any. Possibly the eagles have driven them off.

Thank you, Lynette ๐. For very small birds they sure make their presence known. I think their territory is east of B.C.

Their eyes are very striking looking against the blue-black feathers.

A great photo Belinda, Grackles are in Las Vegas all year, I saw several today just walking to the bank! Such nice colors and they can be very loud too.

I have to ask. Did they use the ATM or a teller window? My apologies ahead of time. ๐๐๐ง๐๐๐
