Chasing dragonflies can be difficult as they’re in constant motion. If you see one on a lily pad chances are you’ll get a few photos, as they break from leading you on a merry chase.
You must be so patient, Belinda! I like the cute white patch on its face π and the shadow making it look like it has ‘double’ wings, made me look twice.
Ah so nice. A part of my childhood on the lake iin Michigan. I loved to take the little John boat out with the electric motor and putt around while the damsel flies landed on me and the boat. A summer delight from the early 1970s. β€οΈπ

And if they take flight they often return to the same spot (stem) you first saw them on.

A great capture, Belinda. π They are so beautiful (and great mosquito irradicators!) but yes, difficult to get a picture unless they land.
