I was happy to photograph the damselfly earlier in the summer, there weren’t many about in my area. I saw the paper wasp the other day. I took the photo from a distance. I didn’t get in its way and it didn’t bother me either.

A good focal length for that 😊😊. We were just out back trying for the hummingbirds. I started with a 24-200, a little short bit a pro lens so cropping can be good.
It’s my go to that stays on my ‘porch’ camera. At one point I switched to an 80-300, but a plastic fantastic so focus was sloooooow. I used no long lens since even mine is heavy on my neck and… it’s humid. A foggy lens while waiting to clear means the hummers are long gone 😆😆

It works pretty well, a lot of focussing with my feet though 😊.

Is that a Yellow Jacket or regular wasp? I have some that look the same hanging around my outdoor flowers. 🙂

That’s a great title for these lovely pictures! Perfect. Yes, the paper wasps can leave a nasty sting. I like the background goldenrod in the wasp photo, too.
