STOPS ALONG THE WAY

This Old Tree

I’ve been going to this reserve for years and each time I do I check on this tree.  It’s been leaning all this time but continues to bud each spring and puts on an a show ever fall.  Ducks and geese swim up to it and sometimes rest in its shade. I can’t imagine not seeing it as I round the curve of the path; this fine old tree.

This reminds me of a termite nest I photograph every time we visit the Mountain Zebra National Park: it state of health seems to wax and wane over the years, yet it is still there 🙂 🙂

It’s amazing how long a tilting tree will last in that position. I hope this one has a long time ahead of it. Great capture, Belinda. 🙂

I hope it can continue to “hang in there,”

We have a tree in the marshes we do the same thing, check it all the time. Unfortunately it’s just about down in the water. But it took over 10 years of giving birds a good perch.
