    Having only seen domesticated turkeys – and not very often either – I had no idea that turkeys in the wild would prove to be aggressive birds.

    Our wild turkeys, here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, scurry away or fly into the trees. If people feed them, however, they come to think that humans are below them and can attack.

    I’ve never been close enough to a wild turkey to fear them, they generally are long gone well before me!
