STOPS ALONG THE WAY

FAIR WEATHER SPARROW

The weather plummeted overnight. We woke to -21C windchill this morning, so instead of heading out with my camera, I’m featuring a photo I took last month when the weather was more hospitable. Typical November weather pattern, it promises to warm up over the weekend so I should be hitting the trails in the next day or two.

  2. Ah, so autumn finally gave up and invited winter over to your house. Our cold snap finally “snapped” and we are also back in the balmy zone (+4C). 🙂

  3. And here’s me complaining at it being -4! Wonderful photo!

  4. Not sure I can envisage -21C, but this is a beautiful portrait, and the dark branch coming across the foreground really adds to the composition, focusing attention more onto the bird.

  6. I don’t blame you for staying inside with that temperature. Stay warm.

  8. Nice photo, Yesterday we had a cold front move through that slowed the bird life activity. Now the front passed through, today bird activity is most abundant. I like to capture more of the migratory birds as they soar through

  9. Keep warm out there! It’s a balmy +5c here in England, although it’s so damp and chilled that it doesn’t feel like it.

  10. Smart woman – I feel sorry for the animals and plants that can’t escape the cold. Looking forward to the warm up!

  11. Oh my! Time for birds and humans to stay tucked in. Nice shot of the sparrow. I love how the little birds just go about their business no matter the weather.

  12. OMG! That would be a shock for people and birds alike. I would be digging in my picture file too in order to not have to go out in that chill.
