STOPS ALONG THE WAY

CARDINAL (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

Winter or summer, set off against snow or foliage, cardinals are such handsome birds. Often shy, I seldom have a chance to focus on them for very long but not this bird. He stayed put, only moving a bit to change his pose.

  1. We have a female cardinal who visits our bird feeder. For some reason, we envisage her with a pearl necklace and a handbag out for a visit to the mall. She just has that kind of way about her.

  12. Nice that he held still for you. These birds always make me think of Christmas. They look so festive in the snow, but even in summer, they are very striking birds. We don’t have them here and I would love to see one for real someday.
