The painted turtle was soaking up the sun on a fine summer morning. Often they crowd together on the same log. This one chose a solitary perch.

They’re so pretty! Reminds me of our pet red-eared turtle from childhood days. How big is this painted turtle?

This one was mid size though they never get too large. They have very attractive colouring too.

About 6″ to 8″ long? I have no idea….

We saw turtles that size in the Okanagan when we lived there many years ago, Probably painted turtles, but I’m not sure now. I wasn’t as in tune with my surroundings (types of wildlife, etc.) then as I am now.
