House Finch

House Finches are native to western North America but were introduced in the east.  Their colour, particularly the red plumage of the male varies according to diet. They’re attractive little birds, although quite common I rarely seem them.

  3. I love listening to them chatter and scold as if they’re having a conversation with each other … which, of course, they ARE!

  4. I have noticed the males here in my new home state/area are redder than the ones we had back in Silicon Valley. It’s neat. I love their red heads and chests. One of the few red birds we have out here!
