Frogs are no easier to spot when on land or in the water. A jump or a splash usually alerts me to their presence. The first frog looks pretty bold. The leopard frog in the second photo probably hopes he has disappeared into the background. Almost but not quite.

They do have very good camouflage. I love the whimsical expression on the first one!

Nicely spotted, especially the leopard 🙂 . I like how you captured the water tension around the chin of the first one — gives it an extra feeling of depth. The leopard frog is really quite handsome.

The one frog species which really got me in Saskatchewan was the boreal chorus frog. So loud and you hear them everywhere, but spotting them…! Incredibly difficult. I think I only saw one in all the time that I spent outdoors in the prairies.
Love the markings on the leopard frog.

I’ve heard spring peepers kick up a racket, a small chorus frog too, but have yet to see one.
Leopard Frogs are striking.

Frogs are so interesting. Each one looks different. Each one a prince in his own way.
