I took this photo last October. I haven’t been back to this reserve since then but imagine the wood ducks are about to head south once again. Their travel has not been affected this year. Lucky ducks 😏.
We are so lucky to have wood ducks in this country, they are such a spectacular-looking bird. And this photo is terrific with both genders moving right toward us. They’re lucky ducks, we’re lucky ducks. Fun post, Belinda.

These ducks are quite quiet, mallards would have a real problem 😏.

Yes, you’re right. I guess my natural response is due to having more mallards here in our area and rarely ever seeing a woodduck.

I don’t think I’ve ever met one in the wild. I keep hoping to, as they are such undeniably-magnificent birds. A treat of a triple portrait!
