WATCHFUL March 21, 2021 by belindagroverphotography 16 Comments These squirrels are quite common in my area and in the same family as the eastern grey squirrel. They often run off as you approach but not this time. Like this:Like Loading...

Great capture! There are some black squirrels in Central Park and someone told me they were imported. People used to have squirrels as pets … Ben Franklin had one! We trained a gray squirrel to take peanuts from our hand.

Cute capture, Belinda. I love seeing black squirrels – a rare sight here, however.

Squirrels are usually me of my favourite animals. Never seen black squirrels before, not sure there are any in the UK.
More familiar with Grey Squirrels, I’ve also yet to see any Red.

I like his stance. Cute, the way he has his arms up.

It seems they stand like this when they’re relaxed. I guess he was taking in his surroundings.
