STOPS ALONG THE WAY

LADYBUG

I like to watch ladybugs as they make their way though the greenery. They appear to be hard working beetles. Though attractive to look at their bright colour warns potential predators that they aren’t good to eat. The brighter they are the more poisonous.

  2. Nice shot, Belinda. I love having these in the garden. This time of year they are emerging in the house after hibernation and I’m often ferrying one or two outside. We hit 18C today!

  6. I’ve never thought of ladybugs as being poisonous – never tried to eat one – but what you say makes sense, about the colour.
