The merganser coming in for a landing reminded me of the game of skipping stones. I was a considerable distance from the duck but I liked the scene and used a Sepia Preset for added effect.
I’m always amazed at how a bird can take off and land on water. The most impressive for me is the kingfisher who can also take off straight up into the air after having dived into the water after a fish.
The skipping stones image is great!

Great capture, not always easy to catch landing birds.

The males never swim in close but in this case it didn’t really matter. Thank you!
