    They have beautiful feathers when you see them up close, but I don’t like their habits. Not my favourite bird at all, but the photo is wonderful.

    Great point and great shot, Belinda. I always felt the same way about the male Common Yellowthroat – how curious that such a beautiful bird should be called ‘common’!

    You have caught this one in a particularly attractive pose and, I note from the yellow beak, in full breeding mode. The beaks of those visiting our garden are slowly changing from dark to yellow – a warning that time marches on!
