The light was tricky here. The squirrel was in such deep shadow I was surprised I saw it. Spot metering and post-processing got these results.

That squirrel looks pleased with its day! I can sympathise with the low light levels. I’m constantly battling them to get photos of foxes at dawn and dusk.
