We’re lucky to have a variety of squirrels in the area including the black squirrel. They’re a real standout, particularly in the Fall.

My number two favorite squirrel – the red squirrel just beats it out by a hair – we have to travel to get access to either one of those.

A few black squirrels are starting to appear in neighborhoods here. They are striking!

They are ! We have the Fox Squirrel here. Never knew about them until here. Apparently they are common. Up north the look like a giant Grey Squirrel. Southern version lives near pines and swamps and is a panda look a like. Shy but we see them around.

I believe Ontario and Quebec are at the northern limits of their range. (I’m in Ontario). Nice to know they’re south of us as well!
