    Had to laugh, I’ve been trying for 3 years now to get a wood duck sitting on a branch – supposedly common for them, thus the name, but keeps eluding me.. thanks for the motivation.

    This looks like a different duck than I usually see. I was riding my bike around the neighborhood yesterday and saw a pair of mom and dad ducks walking the street, they went into someone’s garage too. The owner gave them water. Funny!

    Is that a female wood duck? If so, maybe it is looking for a place to nest. They do nest in tree cavities, I think. Hollows made by woodpeckers, or just a hole in tree, maybe from broken off branches.
