The black squirrels we see in Ontario are a subgroup of the Eastern Grey Squirrel but when I saw this squirrel with its unusual blond tail I thought the light was playing tricks on my eyes ๐. Another interesting discovery on a neighbourhood walk.
The critter looks so different in a good way. My home town in Michigan has the gray squirrel, but drive east to Port Huron, Michigan and the squirrels become black. Whaaaa? ๐

Curious especially when we see grey squirrels (not popular) and the lovely red squirrels

It looks like a Tasmanian Devil but for the tail.
