This wonderful mural by Ottawa artist Christopher Griffin, appears on the wall of a downtown building. It’s on a busy street, so I wonder how many people have seen it as they drive by. When I’m on foot I always stop to look at it and today I had my camera.

Very clever depiction of the raccoons, love the stances—you watching me? I agree with others so much better than another plain concrete wall.

I think they’re nicely depicted as well! Certainly spruces up the street.

I love this mural, Brenda, how wonderful! Is it painted on the concrete or etched/engraved into the concrete?

It appears to be etched in. A perfect way to depict the raccoons, I think

Wonderful to see art rather than another plain cement wall, there are enough of those already!

Walking or cycling you always see more than if you’re driving. Glad you spotted this and shared it.

What makes it particularly appealing is seeing it in a concrete jungle.

Yes, but at the same time, raccoons have adapted to city life (at least around the outer edges) so it seems fitting to see those pictures in town.

That’s true. Very early one morning I was stopped at a traffic light and saw a family of three raccoons hightail it over the fence of a community garden . I couldn’t believe my eyes 😊
