Norm pulled out our sunflowers yesterday at my direction. Mind you, we still have a few weeks of a cold winter left. Neighbours admitted to have wanted to pulled them out while I was in hospital claiming they made the house look sad.
I think they’re called calendulas. I have a lot of them in my garden (and that’s only because they are so tough and reseed themselves and grow in spite of me). Very nice photo. In this one you show almost all the stages. It’s hard to show the new buds as well as the rest, but this is very close to the “circle.”

Autumn is definitely creeping closer but there’s still some colour left out there.

Drove by my nearby patch of sunflowers this morning, and they were not giving up on summer just yet!

How nice to have so many in your garden! I like taking photos of the old alongside the new. Thanks!

They grow like weeds but they’re pretty. I didn’t plant them. If I had they probably would have died.

It looks like the last survivor hanging on despite the heat and dry spell.

It was in this patch. They carry on quite well despite the weather.
