I liked the repetitive pattern of these plants. I noticed the frothy substance on one of the plants and learned it was produced by the nymphs of spittle bugs. The mature bugs are no friends to gardeners and are often preyed upon by other insects.
I like this composition and your choice of depth of focus a lot, Belinda. Have you ever taken a close look at the spit? It can be quite attractive. 2nd shot in this post. That’s not to say they are not pesty but can still be appreciated. ๐
It looks like the plants are creatures with many arms, which is what they really are, personified I guess… everything looks like it can speak to me, because everything talks to me… I am done now… moving on…. ignore this…
The winter seems longer this year, but it’s what it used to be like a decade ago. We’ve been spoiled by early melt-outs the past few years. Tomorrow is supposed to be 15C and rain like hell with thunder… that should melt a fair amount. The streams will be rushing!

These are interesting shapes. I haven’t seen spittle bugs for a long time.
