    Like you, we have wondered where most of our local birds have gone this summer…
    (It has been a record-breaking summer in our region, so we have been missing our birds)

    One of my favorites, I think they head to the woods in summer, then return to our feeders in the fall. I think most birds are always on the move. 🙂

    We’ve said the same thing this year – where are all the chickadees. We had a few, but not the numbers we usually have. We love having them around and really missed the greater numbers this year. Ours are the chestnut-backed chickadees, but same family.

    Our state bird. When we had the feeders out there were always black-capped chickadees hanging around. Did you ever try to attract them to your finger by pishing? It does work sometimes.
