STOPS ALONG THE WAY

Early Fall

Not too far from the centre of the city is this wonderful reserve that I visit often. As the birds get ready for their fall migration they often stop here before they fly south. They seem to like this old tree too; every time I visit I’m happy to see that it’s still standing. A pleasant place for all before the real cold sets in.

Lovely scene! Isn’t it wonderful how we become attached to old trees and snags when we’re birding and/or just admiring nature?! Birds must recognize them too, returning to them often themselves to rest and preen on and around. 🙂

I just need to say it again, how I love these colours. Great photo, Belinda.

I don’t know where you are in Canada but some of your beautiful Canada Geese flew over me the other day while I was on a bike ride, Belinda. They are amazing birds! It’s so amazing that this large bird and birds of all kinds can fly so far! Even the butterflies travel south to Mexico and further, amazing!

Sweet, restful scene. 🍁 Don’t you wish sometimes that we’d migrate, too? 🙂
