
I watched the grackle with its catch hop along the shore for quite some time. I don’t know if it had a nest nearby because it didn’t fly off or stop to eat. I know the warm weather is here to stay when I start seeing these intelligent and attractive birds.

I had a chance to capture a raven in a photograph recently. What surprised me was that it wasn’t truly black. When the light hit its feathers just right, they shimmered with a beautiful blue shine. It’s amazing how often we think we know what something looks like until we get a closer look.
