Queen Anne’s Lace is one of my favourite wildflowers. We were walking beside a vacant lot that had hundreds of these flowers in different stages of development. Here are two examples.

I’ve loved these since I was a kid. I learned recently that they are not native to North America but have been here since the early 1600’s when colonists introduced them as a medicinal herb.

One year I had one growing in one of my pots. I have no idea where it came from and it didn’t reappear. They are lovely looking flowers 🙂

They are beautiful in all stages, aren’t they? I only wish they behaved better in a vase, they drop all those tiny white petals all over! 😀
