This was the first time I’d seen this type of damselfly. I believe it’s a Spreadwing. It’s rare that this species stays put when people approach. It was just my luck that it held firm for me to take the shot.
Love those turquoise/blue eyes, fantastic capture! I’ve yet to get even one dragonfly photo in focus, you are right, they don’t stay put when approached! He was there for you. Well done!! 🙂
Thank you, they are a challenge. In watching their behaviour I’ve learned that if they’re scared off they often return to the same spot where you first saw them!
