CHICKADEES (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

Both of these photos were taken at a narrow enough depth of field to get out of focus backgrounds. The first shot taken in late summer, has the bird showing off its acrobatic talent. The second chickadee was shot in the fall when most of the trees had shed their leaves but enough of them remained to create this amber effect. Always nice when the background complements the subject.

  2. I like both shots, but think the lower one exceptional, almost perfect in fact (if its possible to make anything perfect) – right up there with the very best of your portraits. Eyeball contact, I am there with the bird, I am even feeling something of its aura or character. A 🙂

  12. I always find it hard not to let the camera focus on a branch and then make the bird out of focus. These are so cute.
