The woods in winter are quiet; the only sounds are my boots on the snow and the wind in the trees. I wasn’t alone though, as I looked up I saw this squirrel looking down at me.
What a beautiful squirrel! Are black squirrels rare up your way? They are for us at home, I know one town neighborhood area where the community protects them from human exposure and photographers. I’ve yet to get a photo of one, so I’ll enjoy yours!!
Black squirrels are special (as are black cats), and I know there’s one in northern Minnesota wondering where I have been this year. I have high hopes to catch up with him this coming year, but we’ll see how that goes. Love the frosty dots in his whiskers and fur.

Excellent shot! Love the white crystals outlining the black shape and excellent job coping with challenging lighting.

I have to agree, he is good looking 😊. We see more black squirrels than the grey variety here although they’re not common elsewhere. Thanks, Donna!
