STOPS ALONG THE WAY

  1. They fly south and many stay. They don’t know what “snow bird” means. They have certainly figured out that Florida is a great place for food and procreation. They are becoming a burden as we don’t have Goose season to keep them thinned out, so why fly north ever again?!? Same as people. LOL! 🙂

      • LOL! OMG! Well, I suppose it would be if people could hunt them for a food source. People are hungry especially since the pandemic. It could be a win win under the right guidelines. 🙂

        • There is a specified time period for hunting migratory birds here. I prefer a less permanent way of dealing with them 😏. Not sure if they make good eating either.

          • I don’t know. I’ve never been a hunter. All my family back in Texas were hunters and my sister & her family still hunt deer and quail. Not my cup of tea at all. The only way I’m shooting an animal is through the lens of my camera. They eat everything they kill. I’m not against it, but I just can’t do it. I wouldn’t eat duck or anything like that. I can’t even eat chicken or most pork right now because I can’t stand the smell of it cooking. I can eat bacon & choke down turkey at Thanksgiving.
Happened after my gallbladder surgery 6-7 years ago. Weird, right?

  2. A Canada goose in Canada? And it’s single too! When I lived on the East Coast parks and business parks hired Geese chasers because there were so many of them. We have them in Colorado but not as many. Nice shot!

  3. The black. white, and gray/brown of the goose and the water are set off so nicely by the warm colours of the grasses. Great composition, and a fun surprise in the water (the goose’s head reflected).
