  3. Nice one, not all are so shy/polite. I’ve seen them on the beach raiding picnic baskets, you really have to hide any edibles quite well if you want to walk or go for a swim!

  5. They are opportunists and scavengers, and I suppose they do their bit to keep the scraps cleaned up. But yes, be careful not to walk under them when they are flying around.

  6. I enjoy your delightful commentary – it was indeed polite of the gull to wait. How awful if it had dive-bombed the picnickers! Your title is a lovely tongue-in-cheek one too ๐Ÿ™‚
