I agree that black and white works well for this. The shade seems more shady in monochrome. 🙂

Black and white helps to convey the heat in this scene. Having experienced 41’C yesterday, those shady patches look like spots of welcome respite to me.

It’s hard to remember that in the heat of summer we cross to the shady side of the street 😏. I’m glad the photo was effective in conveying this!
