AT THE LAKE January 6, 2023 by belindagroverphotography 15 Comments The geese posed nicely in front of the beaver lodge. I think it is abandoned as there is no evidence of fresh wood. Like this:Like Loading...

They have each other through the long dark nights. It would be a cold and scary experience, wouldn’t it? Where do birds go at night?

They often sleep in groups to keep safe and can even sleep with one eye open. Part of their brain remains alert to predators. Pretty extraordinary!

I see, I’ve never seen the places where they sleep though.

The geese are probably wondering if they should knock on the door to see if anyone is home to offer them a cup of tea.

No, probably not. Those geese are so close together that at first I thought it was one goose stretching its wings.

I agree, it does look like an abandoned structure. The local building commision may condemn it. 🙂
