STOPS ALONG THE WAY

Along the River

Walking along the river a saw a group of black birds on the move.  I have never seen so many cormorants at one time. I wish I could have got a closer shot but I was at the limit of my lens. Funny, the people in the sailboat didn’t even turn to look.

Do cormorants migrate, I wonder? A beautiful scene, Belinda, so summery!

It looks like it was a nice day to be near the water. That’s always fun to see a group of birds take flight isn’t it?

I’ve not seen so many together before either, Belinda!

I think they should be migrating about now. Every once in a while I see big flocks, usually along the coast.

Good point about it being odd to see so many together. It’s more common to see one or two by themselves. And the people in the boat not noticing … too bad they are unaware of what’s happening around them.
