
There are a few wild turkeys that lurk in the darker corners of this reserve. I’m not fond of these large birds and I keep my distance. Given that Canadian Thanksgiving is next week, they might have more reason to fear than I do 😏

Hahaha As a Canadian and someone who snowmobiles, we see them all year round, they are big birds!

Our wild turkeys, here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, scurry away or fly into the trees. If people feed them, however, they come to think that humans are below them and can attack.

I’ve never been close enough to a wild turkey to fear them, they generally are long gone well before me!
