RED SOLDIER BEETLE

BeetleI believe this is a red soldier beetle.  I saw one then a few more on surrounding plants. It’s been my experience that you never see just one. I took this with my 300mm so I was pleased that I got a decent shot with a bit of cropping.

    Oh Belinda, this is not a decent shot… this is such a great photo, he looks directly into your camera. I’ve never seen this before. Congratulations!

    Nice, I find it pleasantly surprising how a lens like that can get good shots of tiny critters. An added bonus. Of course you need to be able to shoot like you too 😂
