WILD FLOWERS (TWO PHOTOGRAPHS)

Buttercups and fleabane daisies are considered weeds but I prefer to call them wildflowers, Both of these photos were taken in the woods where they grow freely. The frothy substance on the stem of the buttercup is produced by immature spittlebugs, a definite concern for gardeners yet it appears on a variety of garden plants as well.

Every bit of colour is welcome. Even these weeds/wildflowers brighten up the day.

They don’t look like weeds to me, Belinda. 😊

Lovely! I’m seeing wildflowers here now as well. Yellow is the color I’m seeing most.

I love fleabane, such a wonderful (if prolific) native. Though the buttercup is non-native and takes over, I still love seeing them, too!

I think of them as wild flowers, not weeds. They’re so pretty, especially when they cover an entire field. Lovely photos, Belinda.

The definition of weeds needs to be reconsidered. These are both lovely look wild flowers 🙂
