I took this photo in August. The mallard hadn’t quite finished molting but as he was out in the open I assume his flight feathers had grown in.

They don’t feel very well when they’re moulting, I think. I usually see them quietly tucked away in the shade and they just look under the weather, too. Great capture, Belinda.
