When we put out our feeders (no longer since the bear population seems to be staying awake these days) my favorite winter visitor was the white-throated sparrow. I love the call…Poor Sam Peabody, Peabody, Peabody. 🙂 There are of course other interpretations.
Of course they should but the rise in winter temperatures has caused many to stay active through at least some if not most of the winter now and our feeders get destroyed by them. And of course should there be interactions between them and humans the bears pay the ultimate price so we don’t put seed out any longer. And the birds can do fine without people feeding them. It is more for our pleasure than their need.

Shouldn’t the bears be retreating to their dens by now? 😏 I hope you can put up your feeders again soon.

It’s disheartening to hear about how bears are also being affected by climate change. Something I was not aware of but not surprised by 😏

This is a beautifully clear portrait! Is that a touch of yellow near its eye? It looks very pretty indeed.

We have the golden-crowned sparrows here. Very similar.

We don’t see them here. They do look alike.
